Stephen Michael Designs are based in Long Eaton and are a small family run business with over 25 years experience in manufacture and design of high quality, hand finished upholstered furniture. Our range includes Sofas, Chairs, Head Boards, Ottomans and Footstools all made in our wonderful 100 year old mill.

We use only the finest components available and offer a wide range of options which enable the client to create the exact finish they require. With this exceptional high standard of work, we have worked along side Harrods and Selfridges to create the highest standards of furniture. All our furniture can be made in standard sizes, or made to measure to suit your personal needs. • All our frames are constructed from seasoned solid hardwoods being glued, doweled and screwed to form, with braced corners to give additional strength and come with a full 10 year guarantee.
• Fully coil spring seat base structure.
• Fabrics which are individually hand cut and pattern matched throughout. (All cushions are reversible).
• Various layers of fillings to give luxurious look and sumptuous comfort i.e. Upholstery felts, Protective layers of Hessian and Dacron fibres on outer surfaces, High density foams and fibres, High density edge profile.
• Valances applied by hand-stitching.
• Variety of cushion interiors available: CHMR Foam Rapped with Dacron Fibres, Wellman Fibre Quallofil Fibre and Feathers.
